AIRPORT – HANOI – PERFUME PAGODA – NINH BINH – MAI CHAU/ Free VOA

Destination: Hanoi, Perfume Pagoda, Ninh Binh, Tam Coc, Hoa Lu, Cuc Phuong, Mai Chau.
 

This is a remarkable trip through three different regions of North Vietnam and offers a wonderful balance of Highlight and cultural insights.
 

We journey from the sheer beauty of Perfume Pagoda, into Ninh Binh and Tam Coc, through the serene village of Hoa Lu district and finally on to the delights of Mai Chau. There is hiking, boating, homestay and even learning how to cook authentic Vietnamese food. A brilliant experience!
 

Day 1: Airport – Hanoi
Pick up from International Airport to Hanoi City Palace Hotel located in old quarter of Hanoi, stay here for one night.
 

Day 2: Hanoi / Perfume Pagoda / Ninh Binh for Tam Coc  (B - L – D) 
Pick up from Hanoi City Palace Hotel at around 7:30 – 8:15 am. Perfume Pagoda holds a religious significance for the local people, being considered one of the most beautiful scenery in Vietnam. Departing 2-hour countryside road  from Hanoi we travel through a lot of the green fields and idyllic villages with picturesque scenery to Perfume Pagoda. On arrival “Ben Duc” wharf, getting a Vietnamese conical hat, gliding along scenic waterway. On the way we visit Den Trinh Ngu Nhac temple, after that continue to get on a boat trip and hike up mountain paths.
 

Followed by a cable car journey up to Perfume Pagoda, hidden in a cave and surrounded by stunning forests and towering mountains, Perfume Pagoda lies on the top of the mountain range of Huong Son, and is famed for its spectacular views over the whole area. We continue soaking up more breathtaking scenery as we hike to our waiting boat. Then we move on to Ninh Binh town at around 17h30. We stay overnight in The Vancouver Hotel.
 

Day 3: Tam Coc / Hoa Lu / Cuc Phuong National Park (B–L–D)

In the morning we journey to Tam Coc cave. Here we take a boat trip among spectacular limestone and through beautiful waterway on Ngo Dong River to admire a great scenery of Tam Coc "three caves". After visiting Tam Coc, we will visit Bich Dong Pagoda which was considered to be the most second beautiful grotto in Viet Nam (in the 17th century). After that, having lunch in restaurant in Tam Coc

In the afternoon we go to Hoa Lu old capital on the countryside road with nice scenery and green fields and then visit Hoa Lu with two temples "Dinh & Le" dynasties. Next we head into Cuc Phuong National Park. Overnight on Bungalows in “Mac Lake”.
 

Day 4: Cuc Phuong - Mai Chau (B – L – D)
In the morning we visit the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre (EPRC) & Turtle Conservation Center (TCC), all of the conservation efforts being made to save the endangered Langur. After that continue transfer to visit Prehistoric man cave and having lunch in the Park center.
 

In the afternoon we trek a 7-km hike to visit Thousand Year Old Tree Loop Trail and then we depart 3,5-hours road to Mai Chau through a lot of limestone mountain. Our final destination is beautiful Mai Hich, a scenic valley in Mai Chau and home to a White Thai people. There is free time for some exploration of its nearby villages. In the night we are the guests in a local White Thai family, enjoying the warm hospitality over dinner and an overnight stay in a traditional wooden stilt-house.

Day 5: Mai Chau – Hanoi (B – L – D)
In the morning we cycle to visit Mai Chau`s laidback life and beautiful surroundings of rolling hills and towering mountains, green rice terraces and friendly White Thai villages, here you can try on to learn Thai language and learn how to weave.
 
On the way back to Hanoi, we stop over to walk around Muong villages and visit Waterfalls. After that we continue driving to Hanoi through the mountainous road, arriving there at around 17h40. The tour ends.
 

The facts…

Physical activities: hiking, cycling and boating with:
- a 4-hour boat trip and a 4-km hike on Day 1.
- a 2-hour boat trip and a 2-3 km hike on Day 2.
- a 7-9 km hike on Day 3.
- a 6-10 km bicycle ride and a 1-2 hours walk on Day 4

From July to September, the climate is usually humid and hot. From October to June brings cooler and more pleasant weather.
